Checked twice a day

Second-hand flips around Vancouver

Twice a day, an AI agent goes through Facebook Marketplace and a script reads Craigslist, Kijiji and Karrot, all within 50 km of downtown Vancouver. Each cheap listing is checked against what the same model is listed for, and only the few that should resell for more than they cost stay. Each pick shows what you'd pay, what it should resell for, the asking prices it was compared with, and what to check before you buy.

How the picks work
  1. Resale. What the same item is listed for around Vancouver right now. Each pick shows those asking prices, so you can check the number. The resale sits at or under the middle of them, so the item sells in a week or two.
  2. Profit. The resale minus what you pay and any repair the pick names. Your time, gas and selling fees are not in it.
  3. The bar. A pick needs at least $50 of profit within 50 km of downtown, and $150 from 50 to 100 km out, where the drive eats into it.
  4. Seasons. Air conditioners, bikes, skis and winter tires sell for more in their season. A pick bought out of season is priced for its season and says when to sell.
  5. Rechecked every run. Earlier picks are opened again at each check. The ones that sold or came down move to Earlier picks.

I keep a few pages like this one: used Teslas, businesses for sale, stock calls and marketing jobs. Each one updates on its own.
