We're currently in the AI era. Then it's robotics. Then it's quantum computing. Then it will be space.
I'm not trying to predict the exact order or the dates. The point is the shape: the waves are lined up, and each one is big enough to reorganize work, money and attention the way the internet did.
The lineup — each wave arrives before the last one is done
And here's the part you can already bet on: each wave will arrive with the same headline. The end of jobs. The end of careers. The end of everything. AI is getting that headline right now. Robots will get it next — it'll be louder, because robots have faces.
Same wave, two readings — you only get to pick one
The fear isn't wrong about the disruption — jobs really do change, industries really do fold. It's wrong about the ending. Every one of these waves created more than it erased, and the people who did best weren't the smartest ones. They were the ones who showed up early and stayed curious while everyone else waited for permission.
That's the whole plan here: ride the AI wave hands-on, and be standing on the beach when the robots walk out of the water.
