What is wealth?

These are my top 5

01

A smile from someone who loves you and is warmed by seeing you

02

Running, biking — my legs are powerful and a luxury

03

Finding peace when I close my eyes — It's a practice.

04

When they tell me the guac is extra and I say don't worry, just add it. Not sure why, but it feels better than a $300 steak dinner.

05

Not needing validation — feeling free from perceived judgement

The guac one is my favorite, because it's the smallest. It's not the $2.50. It's ordering without calculating — a tiny yes that says the scarcity program isn't running today.

That's the pattern in all five. A smile that's warmed by seeing you can't be bought, only earned over years. Legs that run are a luxury you own until you don't. Peace with your eyes closed is the one purchase money famously fails at. And not needing validation is the cheapest rich there is — nothing to maintain, nothing to insure.

Money still matters. It buys the option to not calculate, and I'm building for that every day. But the list keeps me honest: most of what I'm working for, I already have. The job is to not lose it while chasing the rest.

The guac is extra. Add it anyway.
